NEW NETWORKS FOR NATURE

Ruth is an Ambassador for New Networks for Nature, a unique British organization founded by naturalists, scientists and artists to celebrate and speak for the importance of the natural world in Britain, addressing key questions for environmentalists in the twenty-first century, which grew out of dissatisfaction with the low political priority placed upon nature in the UK. Today our wildlife and landscapes are so often evaluated exclusively in environmental scientific terms when they are really a resource at the very heart of human creativity. The multiple impacts of place and the natural world are central to the nation’s cultural life. New Networks for Nature wishes to reflect these truths and celebrate them.

Ruth is on the International Advisory Board of the magazine Critical Muslim. She is also on the Board of Trustees for Etz Hayyim Synagogue in Hania, Crete.
