Honoured to be reading a sequence of poems on BEETHOVEN at the Aspect Foundation, Twentieth century Theatre in Notting Hill Gate on 25th February, when the Endellion Quartet play Opus 18. No 6 then Opus 131, greatest of the late quartets. These are unique evenings, with beautifully researched images, fantastic players and wine – and they put the music so carefully into historical and emotional context..
WORK IN PROGRESS: MY NOVEL ON 2ND WORLD WAR CRETE
I am finishing my second novel FIREBIRD, set during the Second World War on Crete, where I’ve lived off and on since 1971, especially these four years it’s taken to write. .
This is my essay on German artist Kathe Kollwitz, in the Radio 3 ‘Minds at War’ series.
