Finding the Snake Goddess: New Poems by Ruth Padel

In conjunction with Labyrinth: Knossos, Myth and Reality, the current exhibition in the Ashmolean Museum, and as part of the project 'The Many Lives of a Snake Goddess', Ruth Padel read new poems on the Snake Goddess figurines, found at Knossos in 1903 by Sir Arthur Evans. Ellen Adams (KCL); Nicoletta Momigliano (Bristol); Christine Morris (TCD); and Andrew Shapland (Oxford) introduced Ruth Padel’s performance with a short archaeological and historical talk on the figurines and they joined her afterwards for Q&A with the audience.
